COVID19-related deaths are various, not limited to lung disease.
Not only nasal swabs but also multi organs samples are mandatory for post mortem diagnosis.
Our cases illustrated the key role of inflammatory mechanisms in multivisceral thromboses due to COVID19.
Inflammatory mechanisms play also a key role in serious adverse events following COVID19 vaccination, such as thrombosis.
Therefore, a multidisciplinary approach is required for a better knowledge and prevention of COVID19 and vaccination-related deaths.

COVID19 has been initially considered as a lung disease but studies showed that COVID19 was actually a multivisceral infection. However pathogenesis has remained poorly understood because of the low number of autopsies. Indeed, mortuary regulations have made it difficult to perform autopsies on a large scale. These limitations have been emphasized in some papers. Despite these limitations, we could perform several autopsies which have contributed to a better knowledge in the pathogenesis of covid19.
We report on multiple cases showing the importance of autopsies and thorough investigation, including virological analyses.
